Just wanted some input from you guys and girls. I have been training all winter to increase my running speed so I have not ridden my bike since November 1st. Well I have gotten a lot faster at running. We had a nice day here in Kansas yesterday Jan. 29th and I went out for a 62 mile ride. Well I got dropped 25 miles in and I got dropped by guys that I used to drop consistently last year. I know I will get my endurance back and my speed but I wonder how would you guys approach getting back into racing form? I know you can't take off 3 months and expect to ride like I did last year right away but I thought the running would help. It was quite humbling to say the least!
Any tips or experiences anyone would like to share with me?
Thanks,
Steve W.

I guess no one knows! Well I think I figured it out. Biking helps running but running doesn't help your biking. So time to get busy on the bike again!
Thanks anyway.

running will help you stay in aerobic shape but won't do much to keep your cycling up. My advice would be to just gt riding again. Any riding will help. First I would start by doing some easy miles for a couple of weeks and then start increasing your intensity. Upping the mileage on the weekends is a must and before you know it you'll be back. There's my 2 cents

Thanks Grant,
Its been a couple of weeks since I posted that and I have been getting out and riding. I can tell I am already starting to come back around. Just gotta mix it up I guess. I did not ride all winter. I ordered a cycleops electronic trainer that works with my pc so I will use that on bad weather days. I just can't stay off the bike again that long. Thanks for your advice!
