Well I was lucky enough to get a new Specialized Transition TT frame, fork and seat post (the carbon one) this winter.
I was using a Jamis Comet road frame as my TT bike in a 59cm size, the new transition is their 61cm but it has the same TT measurement as the 59cm Jamis. The biggest improvement that I can see it the seat tube angle, the Jamis has a 73.5-degree and the Transition has a 75-degree angle. I felt like I was a low as I could go on the Jamis because my hip angle was getting tight. With the 75 degree seat tube I’m lower in front with a less hip angle,
That I think is the biggest improvement.
After one outing out side and many trainer workouts I feel my legs are much better off after the workout and the next day. I have not had the opportunity give it a timed test out side, but its first race is at the end of
February and I can’t wait to let it rip with race wheels!
I have it set up with Dura-Ace derailleurs and shifters, Oval A700 bars, Profile Carbon cranks, Vision brake levers, die compe BRS-100 brakes and a Selle Italia SLR T1 saddle and it came in at 19.5lbs not to bad for an aero tube bike.
All is all I think the Specialized Transition is a super TT/Tri bike, the fit and finish is very good and I think it needs more recognition in the world of Felts and Cervelo’s
Dan…
