Anybody down there doing this race? Anybody know the course, see link: http://www.scvelo.com/photos/Time.htm
Do you think aerobars will be ok for this one? I was thinking my road bike with some mini-bars as I'm sure I'll spend a good amount of time out of the TT position. Analytical Cycling indicates I'll be about 5-7 seconds slower because of the extra weight from aerobars. Do you think the increased speed while in the aero position will compensate for the weight penalty?
Thanks for any input guys. Oh, if your racing this one, please do not respond...ha ha...

I suggest a skinsuit, shoe covers, aero helmet, lightest bike set up, and riding it on the hoods. Think '04 - Lance TT'ing up the L'Alpe d'Huez - just his drops/hoods.
The CAT 3 winner last year did a 14.9 MPH avg, not really fast enough to use anything other than the drops or hoods. Maybe some light aero wheels like 404's.

Thanks again for the advice. Didn't quite have it for the TT as I ended up in 41st, about 2:06 off the winners blazing pace. I managed an 11th place finish in the RR though. Our Crit on day 3 averaged 32.48mph over 45 minutes. Great time and you SoCal boys are strong for sure!!!
