Looking to pick up a rear wheel for the TTs'. Running Reynolds Stratus DV for the road races. I figure the Hed 3 is more versitile than the disk (as far as terrain and crosswinds) but does the advantages of this disc over come that?

I use my Renn disc and H3 in the front all the time, the chose between a disc in the rear and an H3 is a hard one. I think if you want that last bit of speed take the disc, but as we saw in last years TDF a set of H3 work just fine.

I use either a HED carbon 3 or a Zipp 808 in the front & always a disk in the rear. The disk is definitely faster giving me a very noticable sail effect. I've tried a HED 3 in the rear & it's not as fast. Lance won last year because he had ridden the course prior & his choice for using the HED3 in the rear was dictated by the windy downhill grade, otherwise he too would have chosen a disk. Ken
