Anyone know if tomorrow's Tom's Farm TT is still on, given the current rain and the forecast for more?

not only was it on, it seemed like it was more warmer than Piru TT the week before, but a little wet. funny how Piru TT separates the cat 4's and 5's, as opposed to Tom's Farm and Santiago Canyon where 4's are combined with 5's. i'll have to wait and see how Fiesta Island do theirs, i haven't done that yet.
As for Tom's Farm yesterday, i managed about 4 hours of sleep after another late night pre-race as usual, only 49 riders showed up though, which really abbreviated my warm-up time.....
and DAMN! i was the last rider to go off, and i still missed my start time! i always set my "go" alarm on the cell phone 10 minutes before start time, giving me time to put away the trainer, put on my racing wheels, don the helmet, and go! Tom's Farm, like Santiago Canyon, requires the rider to ride a good little distance to reach the start line. and i always seem to have to wait a while behind the riders in front of me before i get to go; maybe this time it's because i forgot to pump up my tires..... that coupled with the fact that i set the "go" alarm only seven minutes before my start time.
i arrived at the start line area with no start line personnel around, and rode around aimlessly in a couple of circles before a person manning the finish line table told me told me to "just go!"; so i went.
i lost a whole lotta time...... lessons learned the friggin' hard way again! i was such a sore loser and was so godamned pissed-off!

Where is the start/finish located now? I have not done it since last Jan.
Fiesta Island goes by a combined 4/5/19-29 category, or 1/2/3 for seniors.

Tom's Farm TT starts under the bridge about a mile down from the Tom's Farm dirt-gravel RV parking area, where most of the TT participants park, register/pick-up their number, and warm up; the turn-around happens to be just about under the next bridge that's supposedly 4-miles down the road. I wonder who's doing the PSV/Tom's Farm TT flyers..... so many recurring typos, it's so damned hillarious
. The PSV website is/was stating the next Tom's Farm TT on the "19th" of January; whereas it's supposedly the 13th.
I visited www.trainingbible.com, and I'm sure I can benefit from pro-level coaching and guidance; and I see and hear about all the limitations of using the 220-minus age formula to determine a max-HR. But I'm special not just for my emotional phenomena, but that my damn max-HR is impossible to determine. I've tried different locations in the house, shutting off the WiFi, turning off cellphones/lighting/television/etc, tried different outdoor rides, different HRM sensor positions, and even different HR monitor/computers..... but my max heart rate always shoots straight up to the 230-240bpm range; the only way I can determine a usable max-HR is using the tried-but-not-always-true 220 minus age formula, and then deducting another 3bpm for the 3 years since I've started riding bikes again after a two decade layoff. And thus far, my heart-rate training has done me much good results..... perhaps I may not realize my full potential, but how many of us really do? Only the really fortunate few.

thank you guys very much for the information. i cant wait to get out there. now i dont have the cool wheels, or nice lil helmet: will i stick out or is there a good representation of elites, and people like me?
a lot of racers participating in these local TT's use regular road-racing bikes and helmets. it's really developing your engine that counts; your aerobic foundation and then your LT. I think having cool wheels, aero-bars/frames, and helmets that make you look like Alien is really important for technical development as a time trialist riding in that awkward TT position, which would ultimately be truly useful once you become competitive with those faster people in your age group of category; if you're 30-60 seconds behind the first place dude or dudette over a 20km course, you'll then ponder the significance of having all that friggin' overpriced aerodynamically optimized gear. damn thing are so infuriatingly expensive! like my relative poverty and tenuous means of paying for my monthly bills, thisshiet pisses me off so bad!

I'm sure you could greatly benefit; I try to design training programs that allow athletes I work with to reach their maximum athletic potential

You may want to explore a Conconi test, or have Metabolic Testing, Est. Vo2 Max and Anaerobic Threshold and Anaerobic Power Tests conducted (Training Bible will offer these in early 08 in San Diego).
