I stumbled onto this site and have seen a few TT recently and was wondering. Even though the series is 7 or so races in can I still come to a race and participate? And if so whats with CAT 1-5 do I need to have something done ie, races, or quals? Thanks for any info I can get.

Yes, you can race in one, or all of the events.

You will want to purchase a one day or annual USCF CAT 5 license the day you register (at the location, e.g. for Toms Farms or Santiago). Fiesta Island and Piru do not require USCF licenses, however Piru may require a CBR licence.

i'd like to add that if you've a USA Cycling license, which costs 60 bucks, and you do more than 6 races (TT, crit, or otherwise), you'll ultimately save some $ over having to buy one-day licenses all the time.
Piru TT will take an extra 2 bucks off your registration fee if you have a CBR license, which costs a relatively cheap 25 bucks, and'll easy pay for itself after a few Piru TT events and a few CBR crit or road racing events.
